This is so beautiful, original and makes me sad and happy at the same time. He is still in my life very much. Only few people and friends love and know him. That is somehow normal and okay. But also very strange because I love his music so very much and always come back to it. Ever since Din of E came out. Just today I saw a video of Chris with comment of myself dated 18 years ago 🙏🏼

From his first album to his last and he gave his all every live performance I went to every show had in Colorado and he blew me away every time buy dirt floor I do miss him I remember when he came out with din and nobody was giving him air play and he played a dive bar on East Colfax in Denver and I was there and he was in the alley smoking a cigarette and we talked great performance and great soul

my dad was close with Chris and he said around this time he got infected with HIV and that's was the cause of his death and not cancer, god bless him he has been a huge inspiration for me both musically and as a person.

'Din...' was/is a perfect album. Wish I'd got to see him live.

Haven't seen this one before. Chris seems more relaxed with the interview than usual. He looks the picture of health here as well. I saw him on the Johnny Lang tour in New Haven in spring 99. He got a great ovation there.

I am a 44 year old german guy and i saw him live in berlin over 20 years ago and his music became one of my best friends in my life. No words to express what this music does to me. He had so much passion in his unique playing. It warms my heart that other people feel the same. Prayers to Chris thanks for your gifts ❤🙏

It was a lot slower for whatever reason and the look on his face showed he wanted it amped up there wasn't the kick as with other times he played it but wow I enjoyed it anyway. He is so hypnotic to watch and listen to. I only began listening to him a month or so ago I never heard of him. I just came across it and everyday I listen to him and watch him now. I even told a guy at X-ray today to listen to him and told him there was a video about him on youtube. I'll keep on keeping on watching his video's I also feel so sad about the way this went for him.

I was lucky enough to meet Chris Whitley after a show at Toad's Place in New Haven in May 1997. After being a fan since summer 1991, it was a treat. And he was very kind and welcoming amongst the chaos of that environment. He signed a few things for me but mostly I told him how much I appreciated his music and how it all affected my life. His death really affected me, and that loss is still felt deeply.

Just read about this guy in a book recently,thought I'd check him out,absolutely mesmerizing.I also love CZ motorbikes so stoked to see the CZ sticker on his guitar.
